AERIAL REHAB is the bridge between physical therapy and the air. It’s a stepping stone back to your aerial practice, a blueprint forward and a helping hand to start your process.

It’s geared towards aerialists in different stages of returning. Whether you’ve just had a baby, recovered from an injury or if you are just coming back after years of stopping, this course is the safe, effective and fast way forward.

Meet Kerry

Hi everyone! If you haven’t met me before, my name is Kerry Wee. I’m a dancer, aerialist and instructor at Womack & Bowman The Loft in LA. If I haven’t had the pleasure of teaching you yet, I hope to have the opportunity soon.

Fifteen years ago, the same year I began aerial training, I realized that needed a way to stay out of injury for the long run. I trained in the Physical Mind Pilates Method, was certified and became an instructor.

In 2011 I fell out of my rig and suffered a full tibula/fibula fracture with a compound ankle fracture. I had to learn how to walk again, had three surgeries and two years of physical therapy to eventually return back to the stage.

During my recovery, I became a NASM certified personal trainer and I continued to work with clients privately on the pilates reformer.

Years later, I realized that I couldn’t fully help my clients stay out of pain without the last piece of the puzzle, which is RELEASE. I went on the hunt to find the right training and found my Sensei Mike Tan, a healer who uses an energy-based Thai massage technique. I’ve been apprenticing under him for five years.

I’m able to help my students maintain their aerial bodies with mobility/stability training and release bodywork. I’ve guided students back into the air after…

  • Lower extremity fractures
  • MCL/ACL tears
  • Spinal Fusion
  • Shoulder labrum tears
  • Hip labrum tears
  • Knee & shoulder full dislocations
  • Rib subluxations
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis issues
  • Autoimmune disease issues
  • Vaginal delivery
  • C-Section
I created aerial rehab because…
  • There’s too much guess work and too little guidance on recovery for our population.
  • Full-weight bearing in the air is too big of a jump for the body when we’re not in “aerial shape.” In many cases, small steps or micro-progressions are necessary.
  • Aerialists need sport-specific ground to air progressions
  • Getting back in the air after a sizable break or huge physical change is super intimidating. Having clear steps forward makes the leap more digestible.
  • Aerialists want to take CONTROL of their process.
everything has been tested & proven to give you results quickly, safely & with the least amount of frustration.

who is this for?
THE Post-Injury aerialist

For aerialists fully cleared to start training again. Did your doctor give you a detailed plan of how to move forward? For most, the answer is absolutely not.

THE Post-surgical aerialist

You’ve undergone surgery, finished your physical therapy and now what?

THE born again aerialist

Haven’t climbed in a year or ten? No fear, it’s never too late to come back to what you love to do. The progressions in this course start from laying on the floor to work on breath all the way up to training wheel down. You will fit into this course, from wherever you need to start from.

THE postpartum aerialist

Whether you had a vaginal birth or C-Section, re-establish the coordination between your core, legs and pelvis, zip together your diastisis recti and find that elusive stabilization throughout your body.

*For women at least 6 wks postpartum not experiencing any pain or have contraindications due to complications.

THE aches & Pains aerialist

So, you’re in pain. Maybe it’s just when you train or perhaps it plagues you while resting and doing absolutely nothing. You’re frustrated because your doctors and physical therapists don’t understand what you do in the air and explaining it to them is really difficult.

THE Pandemic-break aerialist

It’s been a rough two years for everyone. Maybe you’re in need of a little inspiration, motivation and guidance to get back to it.

The Just-want-to-be-healthy aerialist

Last but not least… any aerialist who wants a more comprehensive ground to air progression.

What is It?

AERIAL REHAB uses a combination of pilates, functional movement training, aerial strength training and silks basics in a progressive manner to get you back to where you were (or farther) in the air,  as safely and efficiently as possible.

  • I’ve fused everything I know about how functional movement training can prepare the body for the movement patterns we use in the air to create progressions that you can work in your own time.
  • Repeat a step multiple times if needed to strengthen or skip sections that don’t apply to your needs.
  • Of course it’s not an easy process, but here is a CLEAR one.  No guess work.
  • Even if you have the knowledge, this allows you to skip the programming yourself and just get it done.
  • Whether you’re taking care of a baby, acclimating to life post-pandemic or all of the above, this blueprint is straight-forward.
  • Beyond conditioning, the course gets you back into choreography basics so that going to an in-person class won’t feel like your first class ever.

Here’s some FAQ’s

I want to get to do Aerial Rehab but I don't have access to my own aerial rig. How can I practice what I am learning?

Great question! Most aerial studios offer open gym where you pay a small rental fee in exchange for having access to aerial points. Once you’ve downloaded the module videos and resources, you can take them anywhere. Practice with all your new tools with the comfort and safety of a crash pad and supervisor.

Another option is to purchase your own free standing rig from a reputable rigger. If you’re at the beginning of your journey, I would suggest sticking with an open gym option because of the layer of safety that comes with a supervisor. If you’ve been in your practice for quite a while, this might be a good option for you.

When I buy the course, will I have to wait for some of the content or will I have access to it right away?

When you purchase Aerial Rehab you’ll have INSTANT access to absolutely everything. Think of it like a Netflix package! You can binge watch your way through the extensive course material or take your time and work through it at your own pace.

I don't have internet access at my aerial studio. How can I watch the videos while I'm training?

All of the videos as well as the additional materials are downloadable. You can transfer them to your computer or tablet and take them anywhere with you!
